Project Name: Marathon Park Train
Project Description: When the concession operator at Marathon Park was ready to retire, Marathon County wasn’t in a position to purchase his miniature train, which had been in Marathon Park for almost 60 years. The Foundation stepped in to ensure that this community icon would remain in Marathon Park. A quick fundraising campaign was put together and the train was purchased with a combination of donated and existing funds. The train was then donated to Marathon County with conditions that ensure its continued operation.
